Halloween at MUM goes back to the very beginning, and this is the 30th annual. Kids' and adults' costume contests at 7 PM, with prizes donated by local businesses. Free and all-ages, like always.

Thirty years after opening with 230 CDs from Wayne & Stacey's own collection, the bins are still the heart of MUM: new and used vinyl, CDs and DVDs, instruments and gear, strings and sticks, jewelry, MUM merch and one-of-a-kind custom guitars.

“We really put the shows on for two reasons, for the bands to have a place to play and to give the kids, who can't get into the bars, something to do.”

From a handful of CDs and a few necklaces on 22nd Avenue, to the Peavey building, to the corner of 8th Street and 23rd Avenue: here's how a husband-and-wife passion project became Meridian's underground.
